Who we are
We are a small family based business based on the border of Co Galway and Co Clare on the West Coast of Ireland . We are lucky enough to live and work in The Burren and are just off the sensational Wild Atlantic Way .
We make unique hand crafted original Fairy Doors, wooden plaques, Fairy houses as well as many other wonderful handcrafted Irish products.
Our Fairy doors are all one of a kind and are hand cut and sanded before being moved to the spraying room where each one is airbrushed to achieve a totally unique finish. It is then covered in magic fairy dust (also known as glitter) adorned with different decorations and door furniture before being carefully wrapped and packaged.
All of our Fairy doors come with a Fairy Exchange Bag which as every fairy lover knows can be used to exchange a tooth with the tooth fairy or notes with your special fairy.
Tony is the artistic member of our team, he has spent most of his life creating, making, building and fixing things. Tony has spent over 20 years working as a Thatcher which he loved although he would tell you that he is not a fan of the Irish weather most of the time. Tony has always loved to paint and draw but before now has never found a way to use that in his work, now with the formation of Celtic Fairy Doors, Tony is able to combine all his talents and passions into one job. He now gets to spend his days designing products, creating them then either airbrushing or painting them, Tony also enjoys working with people so loves to be at the craft fairs and markets talking to customers and getting feedback. So if you have any design or product questions then please contact Tony as he is only to willing to help.
Joanna works along side Tony in the creative side of the business but primarily focuses on sales and marketing. Joanna has worked in the many areas of business, sales and marketing over the years, most recently in her own business offering bookkeeping and payroll services. Whilst Joanna enjoys the business side of things she has always missed the creative side, now Celtic Fairy Doors offers her the chance to use both aspects of herself. Joanna divides her time between the craft room, office and out on the road finding new stockists, generating business and attending craft fairs and markets. She finds feedback from her customers vary valuable in developing their products. So if you have any questions relating to sales or marketing then please contact Joanna she will be more than willing to help you.
